The 2007 Wisconsin Rifle and
Pistol Association,
Heritage Shooting Inc., Wisconsin Friends of NRA
Block Grant Program
Imagine the impact if every club in Wisconsin ran at least
one PUBLIC event such as NRA's Youth SportsFest, Shooting Sports Camp for Women
or other public and youth camps. Through the hard work and vision of volunteers
and the commitment of the Wisconsin Friends of NRA State Fund Committee; clubs
and organizations statewide now have the ability to do so through this new Block
Grant Program.
The goals of the Block Grant Program are:
To start
more public shooting programs in Wisconsin by supplying needed funding to
organize and conduct NRA Shooting Sports Camps. This is a formal educational
program of the National Rifle Association, Education and Training Division and
is designed to provide adults, youth, men, women, families - literally
everyone - the opportunity to come together to learn, experience and develop
an appreciation of shooting sports activities which will then enhance positive
public relations within the community. NRA Shooting Sports Camps are very
flexible, support a wide variety of interests and are open to everyone. Family
participation is encouraged.
To
introduce more clubs and organizations to the Friends of NRA Fundraising
events and promote WRPA as the state association for ALL of the shooting
sports. These funds were raised in Wisconsin by the numerous Friends of the
NRA banquets for the purpose of promoting the shooting sports in Wisconsin.
The Block Grant program creates an easier, more "user friendly" grant
application system with a much faster turn around time.
The NRA Shooting Sports Camps qualify with the IRS in the EDUCATIONAL category based on instruction, safety and educational formats and that the public is the beneficiary. This funding, along with any local support that you can receive for your camp, is tax deductible.
